Welcome!
We are proud to support Olgoonik Shareholder programs.
The Foundation serves three purposes:

To preserve and promote knowledge and public awareness of Iñupiat cultural traditions of people from the village of Wainwright.

To provide scholarships to encourage the educational, occupational, and creative pursuits of Alaska Native children and adults who are enrolled as Olgoonik Corporation shareholders and their descendants.

To provide assistance to Alaska Native People in Wainwright who are experiencing terminal illness or have lost a loved one.

Community
Donations
Olgoonik Foundation provides financial and other in-kind support to projects, initiatives, and sponsorships that benefit our shareholders and communities.

“The scholarship has had a meaningful impact on my journey toward becoming a teacher by easing financial stress and allowing me to stay fully focused on my college coursework. Olgoonik’s support has opened doors to opportunities that are helping me build the skills and experience I need to work in education and make a difference in students’ lives. This encouragement reminds me that others believe in my goals and the positive change I hope to bring to my community. I am truly grateful for your generosity and the support you’ve given me along the way.”
-Lynnelle Panik, Olgoonik Foundation Scholarship Recipient
“I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to the Olgoonik Foundation for awarding me a scholarship to pursue my Associate of Arts degree in Office Management. This generous support alleviates the financial burden of student loans, allowing me to focus on my studies. The scholarship has been a tremendous help to me and many others, and I am deeply appreciative of the corporation’s commitment to supporting education. Scholarships are invaluable in making college accessible, and this one has significantly reduced my financial stress, allowing me to concentrate on my academic pursuits. I currently work full-time and attend college part-time, but I am considering increasing my course load to 12 credits next semester, instead of 6. This would accelerate my progress toward obtaining Certificates I and II, and potentially allow me to pursue full-time studies in Fall 2025. Thank you again for your generosity.”
-Margaret Ahmaogak, Olgoonik Foundation Scholarship Recipient

“Having the OF scholarship helped tremendously with housing as my family and I did not reside on campus. This allowed me to raise my children and further my education while also employed part time. Olgoonik not only provided a scholarship while I was at UAA, they also provided me with a meaningful internship from 2004-2007.”
